  • light or dark brownish area with well defined borders and with scales,
  • itching,
  • burning sensation.

Affected skin area

  • skin regions with folds,
  • inner thighs,
  • groins,
  • armpit,
  • interdigital regions,
  • perianal region,
  • folds of the breasts.
  • neck.

Causes

  • infection with the bacterium species Corynebacterium minutissimum.

Predisposing factors

  • hyperhidrosis or sweating,
  • overweight,
  • working in humid environment.

Use of THRASMAX

– wash the affeceted skin area and wipe it thoroughly with a towel before treatments,
– apply a simply thick layer of THRASMAX on the affected area, ideally 2 or 3 times per day,
– wait till the ointment dries, (leave the thin dried ointment layer as much as possible on the treated area, as it retains the active compounds)
– repeat treatments until major disturbing symptoms, like itching and burning reliefs,
– if these symptoms cease, treatments can be stopped, as brownish or pinkish discoloration fade over time and will only completely disappear later.

Warnings:
– For external use only!
– Keep out of reach children!

Facts about THRASMAX

It is a chronic localized bacterial skin infection with a pinkish, dark red or brownish pigmented area typically affecting the sweaty, humid skin areas of the body.
Symptoms of Erythrasma initially begin with a well-defined pink patches covered with fine scales and wrinklings. It is frequently located in intertriginous areas of skin folds such the groins, armpit, between the toes, perianal region, skin folds of the breasts. As the condition progresses, the affected area becomes brown and scaly.  In advanced cases the affected area starts itch and patients also compalin about burning sensations.
Diagnosis. Based on its localisations and well defined outlook (see above), Erythrasma can be diagnosed easily. Confirmation can be done by the Wood’s lamp examination where the affected  area fluoresce a coral-pink color due to the porphyrins released by the bacteria (see above).

Cause of Erythrasma is the colonisation of a well defined bacterium species Corynebacterium minutissimum. This Gram positive bacterium tends to colonize the skin surface and starts to proliferate. Later it reaches the upper layer of the skin (the upper third part of stratum corneum) and also invade the presenting cells. The bacterium does not penetrate deeper parts of stratum corneum as this bacterium species is a strict aerobic bacterium and in those ranges oxygen becomes a limiting factor of survival.
Predisposing factors to Erythrasma is the humid environment in that the bacterium can assure its survival and invade the upper third part of the skin layer stratum corneum.

THRASMAX is a new topical, to treat Erythrasma. Today Erythrasma is typically treated with erythromycin (an antibiotic) against that in more and more cases resistance is reported that lead to therapeutic failure. In line with this trend and our philosophy we have developed the pure natural product THRASMAX that effectively kills and inhibits the proliferation of Corynebacterium minutissimum and by this eliminates symptoms.
